Obesity pill – a reality in the near future?

For those who do not like to exercise but still want to reduce weight, you now have an easy way out. Scientists from Imperial College London, have made an important step towards creating an obesity pill beginning. Scientists have discovered how the brain is tuned to crave foods rich in glucose, which help in the formulation of the pill to treat obesity. The brain depends on glucose for energy quota.
How was the study conducted?
The study in rats identified a mechanism that detects the condition of the brain of glucose and requests the animal to find more glucose if the brain is short for him.
“Our brains rely heavily on glucose for energy. Clearly this is a very important nutrient, but in our evolutionary past would have been difficult to achieve. So we have a deeply held preference for glucose and look rich foods,” said Dr. James Gardiner Imperial Department of medicine who led the study.
